  6. Poor posture can make back pain worse. Sit upright, with your body supported against the back of your chair, and keep your feet flat on the floor. Proper posture is a key component to fighting back pain.
  7. Use capsaicin cream. When used medicinally it helps reduces the amount of substance P, a neurotransmitter that leads to pain impulses in the brain. The warm sensation of this cream also allows you to stretch and move without pain.
  8. Try acupuncture. Research suggests that acupuncture can help reduce chronic low back pain. Acupuncture can help trigger the release of pain-reducing chemicals in the body.
  9. Back pain can also be caused by emotional stress. Taking control of your stress can relieve back pain. Getting away from everything for a while. Go for a walk, sit in the dark and light a candle, soak in a tub, or put on some soothing music to relax your mind and relieve your stress.
